All men are created equal.
We all have the right to pursue happiness.
You have the right to a fair trial with an impartial jury of your peers.
Punishments are to be fitting of the crime.
These are principles are that are built into the fabric of American ideals, and yet, this is not the lived experience of Black and Brown Americans. We yearn for the day when these sentiments are objectively true for ALL AMERICANS. The day when walking in your neighborhood, driving in your town, or simply living in brown skin is not an offense punishable by death. Let us stand together for what is right and decent. For all lives to matter, Black lives MUST matter.
